A well-known beverage manufacturer was running into stubborn problems at their PET bottle production plant. If you’ve ever seen a plastic soda or water bottle, chances are it was made using a process called blow molding, which uses a lot of high-pressure air. Their old compressed air system was causing big headaches: it was oil-lubricated.

That meant there was always a risk of tiny, invisible oil particles getting into the compressed air stream. This contaminated air would then come into direct contact with the plastic bottles being formed. The result? Defects. After reviewing their operation, Kotech proposed a straightforward fix: not one, but two of our medium-pressure oil-free air compressors. We installed a 20-bar screw compressor and a 35-bar screw compressor, both are VSD compressors and tailored specifically to the different pressure needs of their production line.

The outcome was immediate and positive.

Because the oil free air compressors are engineered to be completely oil-free, the risk of air contamination vanished overnight. The air reaching the molds is now 100% clean and dry. This meant a dramatic drop in defective PET bottles—product quality became consistently high, and the manufacturer could finally stop worrying about oil affecting the taste or smell of their drinks.

The maintenance team noticed the biggest difference. Without oil to change and with far fewer filters to worry about, routine upkeep became simpler and much less frequent. This translated into significantly fewer interruptions and major savings on maintenance costs and spare parts.
